We seek to close the gender gap in science and start-ups by recognizing and empowering aspiring female leaders.
The Awards
The Kosuri Award for Excellence is presented annually to young women with a strong record of talent and drive, and with the potential to become future leaders in science or entrepreneurship.
The Foundation
The Kosuri Foundation was started to help offset the lack of recognition of female excellence in fields vital to our society.
Young women face significant barriers, from stereotypes to implicit bias, that reduce opportunities for educational and career success.
Science
From a young age, girls are systematically tracked away from pursuing careers in science.
Teachers and parents have lower expectations of girls' science and math abilities as early as preschool.
Women represent only 30-35% of STEM graduates in Sweden.
Entrepreneurship
Only 23% of entrepreneurs in Sweden are women, and female entrepreneurship in Sweden has been declining in recent years.
Women face unique challenges accessing funding and building networks in male-dominated start-up fields.
